Judging will be conducted by a panel of independent HVACR contractors. The judges will rate entries numerically for ease of installation, maintenance, service, overall design, uniqueness, and impact on the HVACR industry. Winners will be based on the sum total of these ratings. Please remember that the judges are individuals taking time from their businesses to judge a large volume of entries. Keep the entries and documentation succinct and to the point. Make it as easy as possible for them to recognize the products' good points.
Be as specific as possible about your product's design features and what they mean to contractors. Remember that in most cases judges will also be looking at other product entries very similar to yours. Thus merely saying that a product is more "saleable", "reduces installation times," or offers "improved reliability" will not provide the judge with sufficient information to make the product a winner.
If you can document specific improvements that enhance reliability or that reduce the time and effort required for installation, maintenance or service; provide the judges with those details. Write each entry with contractors in mind, as if you were doing an in-person demonstration for them. Consumer-oriented features are not considered when rating the products.
There is a limit of three entries per company brand. A product can be entered into only one product category. The NEWS reserves the right to reassign a product entry to a more appropriate product category, if necessary.
